Eggs: An Inside Look Into Nutrition



In the spirit of Easter, you are probably going to be eating,seeing,and hiding lots of eggs.

Find out the benefits and disadvantages of eggs in a balanced diet.

It is recommended to eat 1 egg per day but there is no set serving.

Eggs are a great source of protein and essential vitamins. Egg yolks contain vitamins A,D,E, and K. Also, are a source of carotenoids: Lutein and Zeaxanthin which lower heart disease and muscle degeneration

You don't have to stop eating eggs, but make sure you are aware of the health risk related with eggs.

Cholesterol- found in egg yolks, leads to heart disease.

Allergies- A common allergy in infants and children are eggs. Food allergies are the body's abnormal response to certain foods.

Hormones- most animal products contain chemicals and drugs. These hormones and antibiotics can lead to breast cancer,prostate cancer, and other related hormone cancers.

Again, this is an example of eating in moderation. Eggs on an occassional basis cooked properly should ensure healthy eating habits.
