Yummy Worms

Entomophagy is a fancy word for bug eating. Many countries and Americans eat creepy crawlers such scorpions, ants, and beetles.

At least 1,200 insects are eaten world wide.

Some are eaten raw, made into soups, grilled, and even fried.
Despite how you feel about insects they do have nutritional value. They are a good source of vitamins, iron and phosphorus.

Grasshoppers top the list being the most consumed insects. yum!

Check out some these insect cuisines:

Honeypot ants-eaten in Mexico as treat
Fried Winged Termites-termites are fried in their own fat and served. Eaten in Africa.
Water bugs- known to have a minty taste and used for flavoring.

Bug eating is more common than you think. There are actually a good number of restaurants in the U.S catered to serving bugs/insects only.

If you made it past the picture, you can glance at the diets of other cultures around world by checking out the link.
